Gday,

I am now looking to buy my paint for the HJ..
I can only imagine that a Spraypainter by trade would not be too happy in supplying someone else with paint to do his work for him.. so where do you guys suggest i buy paint from? I am in Sydney if anyone knows any specific shops, but what type of place should i look for? Maybe holden dealers (im not looking for the original colours but maybe a colour holden has)?

Hi All, Ive got a Holden 1 Tonner Chassis i want to get rid of. No signs of current rust damage - has had some plates welded in at some stage. Comes with front suspension, rear leaf springs, rear shocks, towbar. Was a running a 308/Turbo 400. Would suit someone restoring a damaged or rusty one tonner or someone looking for a chassis for their project / hot rod etc. Seems too good to send to the cash for scrap metal place but i need the room & want it out of here ASAP. I'm still chasing side mounting brackets for a HR exterior sunvisor. If anyone has a pair laying around I'd be very obliging. Attached i have taken a photo of my sunvisor and its existing holes which show the measurements as some brackets vary. I have also attached a pic of some brackets i have which are too small.

Quick question, Septone rustproof wax any good?Been told it will dry out and crack. Bought it at mpa paints, at the time I couldn't get techtyl.

I know where there is an EH wagon that's beyond stuffed and laying squashed up and on it's roof.
I jumped the fence for a look hoping to scab a couple of seat belt buckles but even they were totally stuffed.
BUT...but it does have what looks to be a mint subframe without a hint of rust plus there is a second bare subframe sitting near it which "definately" has no rust. No use to me so I've not bothered to chase them up any further.
I WILL NOT steal them out of the paddock but I can find who the farmer is that owns them easilly enough and surely he'd not want much or he may even just be happy if I cleared them off his property for free,.
Are they hard to find in rust free condition and are they in any kind of demand ?
What would one be worth ?

Heya Guys chasing the little nibs that hold the front badge letters on the nose cone of my Tori?
I picked the letters up cheap but cannot locate anyone with the pin clips. I have tried the rubber shop on the north side, harrisons, milton pertformance, rare spares..... ANY ideas guys

Has anyone cut a ute down to convert into a tray (tonner) ?
I'm sorta okies with understanding what'd be required regarding the body cut'n shut but would like to know if i need to add or move any body to chassis mounts and is there anything else i need to take into consideration? For instance, is the fuel tank a worry or do the utes and Tonners share the same set up ?
Would rego time be any drama in Victoria or will we be rquired to see an engineer ? If so, any idea what that'd cost roughly ?

One more thing, I know a Tonner chassis is about 4 inches longer than a ute or van but is the extra legnth added to the rear of the chassis ? In other words, Is a Tonner the same wheelbase as a ute ?

Anything you could add or clear up would be most appreciated.

Hey, i am currently doing up the inside of my panel van and am a bit stuck with ideas on paneling up the walls in the back, i guess its a bit harder cause it has windows aswell. is there any ideas or pictures of the back of panos just to get an idea of what to do?

I have a mate who is a Panel Beater and he came around and we started Sanding some of the HJ Panelvan i have. The body is pretty straight, only had one other paint over the original Absinthe Yellow and overtime, i'm going to get it back to bare metal.

The problem is - i'm not a Panel Beater/Spray Painter and really don't have any expirience with this.

I'm redoing the interior in my HQ ute. Can anyone tell me what the best noise insulation material is? I've seen some sort of noise insulation pads advertised before but kind find them anymore.

i was having a play around on windows paint and came up with this idea.
i cut and paste a hq sedan's bumper and tailights to me ute :P
what do you's reckon? i reckon it would look allright.

I'm in Melbourne and have an HG wagon that I'm trying to get the resto of finished by mid next year Thus far I'm stuck because i cant find anywhere or anyone that can do the rust repairs for me and i cannot weld so I'm stuck, is anyone interested in the job? i have no idea of what the going rate is or any of that sort of thing for this sort of work so could you also give me an idea of that,

are the rarespares repair panels the way to go or is it better to make the sections from scratch?

iv come across 3 rather large rust spots in my HQ

1 on either side, just in front of the back wheels and a big rust patch underneath the pedals in the front, all of which will need to be cut out and rewelded.
just wondering if anybody knows in decent panel beaters in the heidleberg region (VIC) and at what price (really rough estimate is fine) id be looking to pay.

Also if anyone could help me again with some cost averages of getting the gas system completely replaced in the already duel fuel ute.

i know these are like asking "how long is a peice of string" but if anyone has had to do it already itd be great.

Basically, I'm wondering what the hell I'm actually looking for. The other half has started work on the sill rust that was eating away at my HX, and has told me a good idea would be get some sill guards for when its finished.
Apparently the car (which was initially his), came with them, but since then, who knows where they've ended up, if they survived.
All I know is I'm looking for a covering for the sills on the outside, and when I've chatted to everyone I know, I've been given the blank stare response.

Help anyone?
