I have a 1971 HQ sedan for sale. It is in a shed at my fathers property not far from Tannum Sands in central Qld. It has not been started for almost 6 years however everything was in perfect running order then. Engine is a 186 which was fully rebuilt aprox 20,000 km prior to being parked up. 3 speed auto box was a rebuilt exchange unit at the same time. Body is in very good condition apart from a few small rust spots and a small dent in the nose cone where I hit a roo, (twin headlight premier nose cone) I now live in Vic and my Dad is selling the property so I have to get rid of the old girl and don't have the time to get up there, however I can arrange a time for you to inspect. Just wondering. Went to turn me old premier over. I had accessories light come up but no kick. Checked the plug wires etc. My guess is the coil has sh*t itself. How do i test it? Or have i drawn conclusion to early. Please help. Me Premier is a daily driver.

I have a HR im going to be stripping very soon, its a complete car, lived in country NSW its ENTIRE LIFE (it was owned by a relative so i know the entire history of the car). So in saying so everything is for sale if anyone needs anything, i already have some parts sold but most of it is there.

g'day anyone chasing any hq parts my mate has a hq ute out in the back paddock and he didnt even know its was there or what it was anyway its pretty well rusted out so we are going to strip what is left the list so far
186 engine no acc or manafolds no shaw of cond yet
diff
belmont/kingswood dash complete dash pad cracked
tail lights and sourounds
bumperettes may clean up or need rechroming
manny other bits stripping starts tomorow so if there is anything you need let us know

Related to previous post, when I moved the timing around with the dizzy to try and figure out what was going on, I found the PCV valve which is fairly new would start this buzzing sound, sort of a fairly energetic rattle...what would a PCV have to do with timing??

Hi;

Had heaps of grief with an engine 'miss' in the old 186, found what looked to be a small ball bearing jammed in the rubber tube from auto timing advance unit on dizzy that goes to manifold. Has anyone heard that that is used for a purpose (or could have been from previous owner) or was it obviously not supposed to be there.? Seems to be running better without it though.

I have a EK Ute in Brisbane with a rather tired 186 that is using a little too much oil for my liking. I think it is time for some work. I am after some contacts in brisbane that may be able to help with either an engine rebuild or a V6 conversion. Still weighing up costs. Cheers Guys.

Have decied to sell my HR ute. It is currenly bare shell (still painted) as I was planning on restoration but with work, family and other projects it is unfortunaley up for sale. Has 186, 4 speed, X2 guages and wiring harness, Original Western mags, new tailgate, new spare carrier tailgate, Original centre console. Also has another ute shell you can rat bits off if needed. The car was driving and registered untill i pulled it apart. I am asking parts value alone at $2200.00 . 186 motor thats coming out of my HQ van to make way for a 308.
water in oil, hence the removal, but otherwise complete, aussie 4 speed, tailshaft and diff, new radiator available and all good.

The car has a 202 motor in it which i have spent endless time working on, the block has been de-burred and painted chevvy orange and has a gilmar drive. i have put a moulded carpet in the car and boot. i also have a 186 with the HP block and a set of tripple SU's 1 3/4" for sale aswell. i also have a M20 gearbox forsale. i am asking $8500 for the car

Hey there, I got in the HT (drums all around) the other day after not driving for a week or so and I noticed it was taking a lot of effort to stop. My foot would nearly go to the floor before anything at all started to happen. Then after awhile they just failed to stop all together, straight to the floor with no result. So I tried pumping it a few times didn't seem to help. I tried it again today and the whole thing happened again.
I've been told there may be air in the lines? Is there a guide somewhere as to how to bleed the brakes to fix this? I did try searching but the search wont work.

gday everyone..
ive just been given a hg panel van and am told its ex-ambulance. it has two front doors and then a third door behind the driver. it has 3 bucket seats fitted and is complienced to seat 3. i dont doubt that it is all factory fitted, though i can not seem to find anything on the net about it. basically alls im looking for is some pics of this model fitted out originally and maybe a bit of an idea on how many were produced.

Since i posted the pics on the head and motor this afternoon things have now changed on the colour scheme my Son is a bit unsure at this stage but the motor has now changed what are your thoughts as it will have Alloy rocker cover and chrome studs chrome side plates chrome thermo housing(alternater brackets and timing cover in 2 Pac Aluminium)Gilmer Drive,Roller Rockers with Davies Craig thermo fans or equivalent and the last pic is what it is going in So at the moment the LC is on the back burner

as suggested by hq_ss about probably getting more Y/T head pics here are a few more for you to use also some internal pics of a 186 that has been fully rebuilt 6-7 years ago and never started my lad and myself are checking it all out before it to make sure that there are not any problems. if more pics needed let me know.From the numbers the head started life on the 23 Feb 1967 so it was a HR head originally

I've got A 1967 HR for sale. It's got a dented front panel and a bit of rust. I don't want to give it to a wrecker. Looking for someone who is willing to restore her. It's a sedan, engine is ok. It's not registered. Was looking to restore her myself but don't have the time or funds.

I am looking for a 186 for my HK Ute , To suit powerglide. The motor i have is stuffed, If anyone can help that would be awesome I am on the Central Coast but am willing to go to Sydney and I don't mind paying freight.

what else will get this puppy haulin ass?

I can't find set of front brake return springs for a HD or/ are they called springs and retainers for front brake shoes??
Can anyone help me on the Sunshine Coast or Brisbane? I will buy them from anywhere.
