I see i can get aftermarket boot locks on ebay, has anyone tried them out and are they as good as the originals ?

hey does any one no if the cranks are interchangeable between the 308 and 304 blocks
i have a 304 block out of a vq stato and 308 red block and i bought a stroker kit for the 308 but if i can i want to use the vq block because i got a turbo 400 trans built and a 2grand stall but the red block is trimatic patern

Hi guys im selling my Rodeo its a 1996 single cab 2wd with a twin ram hydraulic tip tray (steel, needs paint as its a bit scratched i didnt bother as its my work ute), only 130,000km, automatic, a/c (just been regassed),p/s, new shocks, just had a major service with new timing belt, 4 mths rego, near new tyres, new Kenwood stereo and Sony speakers, new extractors and exhaust.

I would like to get $5500 for it but open to offers.

Hi just wondering if anyone can tell me if it is ok ti shave about 60" off the top of cast pistons. there acl durulite's. its just to lower the compression for boost, want to run about 15psi and avoid a spacer plate. any help would be appreciated

Hey mate, long time no info but i fianlly have prices for your rear leaf springs.

If you are not carrying heavy loads standard ute springs will be fine and for 2" lowered will set you back $390 a pair.

And if you are still carrying upto 1 tonne you will obviously need the 1 tonne springs. and they will set you back $513 a pair.

A $100 deposit will be needed as they dont make many and need to know you will pick them up.

will take about 4 weeks to make from day of order.

Hi,this is my ute,bought on ebay for $8,000...$20,000 later looks like this. New engine,recon box(original) recon diff,ect,ect. highway 20 mpg at 115 kph.Love it.

Can somebody pls help..,..im in the last stages of restoring my old ht wagon....everything than can be re-chromed had been...all new rubber...new paint...re-built original engine...she is so close to being on the road it hurts...BUT i need to find a kick down linkage for the 253 to a powerglide...and a new/reco heater core...thats it...if some one can help me then we will have another old holden classic back on the road where she belongs..cheers andy

Hi guys,
Recently my partner changed the break pads in the front of my VK V8 calais and the drivers side was grating on the metal (bad i know)but the passenger front still had had over 1/4 pad left....what could cause this uneven wear??? I noticed since the front pads have been changed that the breaks are making a 'squealing' noise, im presuming that the rotors need machining... could this also stop the heavy uneven wearing on the pads??

Hi There People,

I have a "new" HT Monaro that I just had registered a few weeks ago, and have a list about as long as the great wall of china of things to do...

However, one thing that is bugging me is a winding noise that it makes when I accelerate above about 65kms. I haven't actually driven it on the highway yet, so I don't know how it goes but on the 70k roads it goes well except for the "woooooo" noise that it makes when i touch the accelerator.

It does make the noise ANY time i touch the pedal, but when I go faster obviously it gets louder.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Hey fellas, i was wondering if anyone has had any experience in jamming an LS1/2 into anything. I want to put one into a VN SS with the 4L60E auto. Is it jus a matter of mounts, wiring loom, comuter, blood, sweat and tears or am i in for alot more than i think?

1 HQ/LH gearshift boot (new)
1 set HQ Front and rear over riders (re-chromed)
1 HQ white front indicator (8/10)
2 14x7 Hotwires with 225/65 Khumo with 50% tread
Scratch plates for LH and HQ (some re-anodised/some scruffy)
1 HT/G Black dash pad and the end pieces (9.5/10)

I am still chasing a pre 1972 308 block if anyone has one. I would prefer one that has seen better days as far as bore size goes as this means it will be cheaper, this is going to be changed anyway. I dont want to destroy a good block that someone could be using for restoration. I need it for a project that requires a pre 1972 engine number. It is not going into a road car but a replica of a show/race car that existed many years ago. Please email me if you can help. I do have a late EFI style 304 short motor that could be used as a swap if necessary. It still has a standard bore and would suit rebuilding.

Need some help in relation to converting a V6 engine/sump to fit into a LJ Torana speedway car.
I have searched for kits and come across the price of sumps at over $800 as a swap over. Is there anyway around this? The car needs to be done before November when we return to racing.
I would appreciate any advice I can recieve. We have the equipment to do the modifications ourselves, but only dealt with 186 and 202 motors....

I'm setting up to run a 10-12psi boost blowing thru a nissan intercooler and then 4 barrel carb(with blow thru mods).

Can a 5sp M76 gearbox be bolted to the bell housing on the 3sp M15 or is it a different bolt pattern?

I helped out with a teardown for a crewing company at Queensland Raceway on Monday...

If I had`ve known what was going on I would`ve just given work a miss, gone out there, strolled through the front gates (no security) to look at racing cars all day.
Team Supercheap had a test and tune day or promo day and there were a few other cars doing the rounds as well.
They fired up the cars about 10ish or so and there was at least one car at a time on the track for most of the day...
I did`nt get to see much (had to work) but from the sounds of it and the smell of burning rubber some of those drivers don`t mind doing a bit of drifting in their spare time either...

Hey i have a vs 5lt v8 slr 5000 and for a while now it has been cutting out.I had the modular replaced and all the wiring replaced and taken it to 3 different mechanics and no one can solve it.I have been told to get a new CAS by a few mates but i dont want to pay for it for no result already spent too much tryin 2 fix it it will drive for say 10 to 15 minutes and then cut out if i leave it for an hour or so its fine but sometimes it can drive for a week straight with no problems or can cut out everyday for a week straight ??????

just wanted to know is there anyway of telling if your head is a 9 port or a 12 port without taking the manifolds off? i have a yella terra head if that helps
